Ultra filtration (UF) is world wide trend used in water and wastewater treatment in recent years, the advantages are obvious:
This system is a pilot scale UF system set up in a municipal wastewater treatment plant
For example,
- existing wastewater treatment facilities can handle higher capacity of wastewater without major alternation
- the efficiency of the wastewater treatment system can be higher because of higher ratio of MLSS
- the treated water passing through the UF, after disinfection, can be discharged as second grade water or recycled as bore water for toilet flushing
